      Welcome to the TERRIFIC Comic Con, we are excited that you want to be part of the action this August 18-20! Below you will find various sizes of exhibition spaces, choose the one that is right for you and your business. Our attendees are eager to shop for cool stuff - from comics to toys, clothes to statues, artwork to gaming supplies - the cooler the better! 
      Exhibitors, remember there is ALWAYS FREE WIFI and FREE PARKING (no matter what size vehicle, car, truck, van - even helicopters - seriously) at the Mohegan Sun Convention Center! 
      Loading areas are ground level, no ramps, elevators - quick and easy. Though we provide you with booth furniture (table, chairs) you can bring as much additional shelving, tables and displays you want that can fit in your space.
      We have heard nothing but praise from previous con exhibitors that the Convention Center is well.. FIRST CLASS all the way! The venue is carpeted (your feet won't be killing you by 3:00 o'clock), beautifully decorated, air-conditioned, well-lit, secure and have the most friendly, well organized staff you'll ever work with.
Plus, when compared to other conventions of our size for a three day show -  we are the BEST VALUE around.

Demers Exposition Services is the approved decorator for the 2017 “TerrifiCon: CT’s Terrific Comic Con” event taking place August 19th-20th at Mohegan Sun.  We will be providing move-in assistance to vendors in accordance with the information below.  Reading and understanding this information will save time and avoid confusion during your move-in. 

Your move in hours are:

Thursday, August 17, 2017 between 2pm and 10pm
Friday, August 18, 2017 between 6am and 12pm


You must first report to the Marshaling Yard before driving to the loading dock

  • The Marshaling Yard is the “Turtle Lot” on Mohegan Sun Boulevard
  • Demers Staff will check you in and provide you with a Dock Pass
  • Demers Staff will direct you to the loading dock
  • You must present your dock pass to Demers Staff at the loading dock
  • Demers Staff will assist you with unloading your vehicle and moving your items to your booth
  • Once unloaded, you must move your vehicle from the dock to an alternative parking area


You are encouraged to move in on Thursday

  • The loading dock will close promptly at 10pm on Thursday
  • Move in on Friday ends at 12 Noon!  Vendors must be ready when the show opens Friday at 1pm
  • Move in activity through the front of house entrances is specifically limited to legitimate hand-carry items only


All other exhibit materials must move in through the loading dock

FYI:

  • You will unload your products/displays and then move your vehicle so the next exhibitor can come in and unload.
  • We have hand trucks and crew to help you unload. You are welcome to bring your own if you want to go faster.
  • If you have a huge truck or displays and think you need extra time to unload and set-up, notify us in advance and we will work with you to make sure we get you in sooner - to avoid a bottleneck and delaying other exhibitors. 
  • Do not just leave your vehicle unattended and start setting up your booth. This was the biggest cause of delays in offloading last year. To rectify the problem, we have put additional staff onboard to help you unload faster. So you can drop off at your booth. Go move your car/van/truck to a parking spot and return to set up your booth/table.
  • WHEN YOU COME IN – YOU WILL SEE US AT A TABLE WITH A MAP, AND AN ENVELOPE CONTAINING YOUR EXHIBITOR PASSES.
  • Smaller table/booths that can be hand carried can park in any of the garages or even hotel valet (its FREE) and bring your materials into the Convention Center.
  • The Fire Marshal will be by for inspection BEFORE the show doors can be open at 12:30pm - all packing materials must be off the floor and the aisles clear of any debris by showtime.

  • Remember you DO NOT have to rent any additional materials from the exposition company and can bring in as much additional display items as you desire! Take advantage of this and BRING WHAT YOU WANT!


LOAD OUT INFORMATION

  • Starts at Sunday, August 20, 2017 from 5:00pm  - You cannot tear down before this time. 
  • On Sunday morning you will receive a packet with a NUMBER!
  • This number tell you what place you are in line to bring down your truck/van/car to load it up and leave.
  • This is done so there is no traffic jam on the loading dock.


Our FLOOR MANAGERS will be there to answer any questions you have.

Mohegan Sun provides free WiFi. Login information will be posted. If you need an electrical hookup, you MUST contract directly with the convention center. 


FAQs

  • Exhibitor spaces WILL sell out well in advance of the show.

Please don't delay, or you risk being shut out. Payment MUST accompany application/contract. Also note that assignment of exhibitor spaces will be at the discretion of Con management. Requests for specific locations will not be accepted. IF YOU WANT A WALL SPACE - let us know - there are a limited number of 8x6 wall spaces - see map

  • How many passes will I receive with my exhibitor-space purchase? 

Depending on what type of exhibit space you select, you will receive the allotted amount of badges/bracelets. Each business will also have the option to purchase up to two more similar passes at a slightly discounted 3 day weekend rate of $50 each pass.

IMPORTANT:  NO DISCOUNTED EXHIBITOR PASSES WILL BE AVAILABLE FOR PURCHASE ON SHOW DAY. So Plan head!

  • How do I get WiFi and/or electricity?

Mohegan Sun provides free WiFi. Login information will be posted. If you need an electrical hookup, you MUST contract directly with the convention center. Use Order form link listed above.

  • Connecticut State Sales Tax information: Vendors at Flea Markets, Craft Shows, Fairs, Etc., Must Obtain a Connecticut Sales Tax Permit

You must obtain a Sales and Use Tax Permit from the Connecticut Department of Revenue Service if you will be selling at a flea market, craft show, trade show, antique show, fair, etc. in Connecticut even if you will only be making sales for one day. You must display the permit prominently in your booth or table. You must obtain a Sales and Use Tax Permit before making any sales. The requirement to obtain a permit applies to individuals, corporations, partnerships, and all other business entities that will make sales in this state, regardless of the number of sales that will be made or the amount of tax that will be collected. As a seller, you are responsible to collect sales and use taxes and you are liable for their payment whether or not you collect them as required from your customers. You must file returns and pay the full amount of tax due DRS.

Note: Failure to obtain a tax permit will result in a fine of not more than $500 or imprisonment of not more than three months, or both, for each offense. You need to file for a business tax permit with the CT Department of Revenue Service, and you must pay taxes to the state on all of your sales within the State of Connecticut, excluding non-taxable items. The license generally costs $100 and lasts for 5 years (That's $20 per year for being able to do business within CT.) You can find the information/forms you need on their website:
